An 18th Century  BOSTON  RARITY in ORIGINAL FINISH. This Queen Anne mahogany kettle or urn stand was originally the property of a well documented Boston patriot who was a close friend of both Paul Revere and John Hancock. The provenance will be available to the buyer. A nearly identical stand is referenced and pictured in The Furniture of Historic Deerfield by Dean A. Fales Jr. (page 160). Mr. Fales says of the stand  "the small

example to the left is most important in that it's trefoil top relates to the glorious turret top tables that were made in Boston". This stand measures 17 1/2" tall  with the top measuring 9". It is made of mahogany throughout. The stand dates from 1745 to 1765.
