Gould Auction Company is pleased to announce that we have been selected to sell, as part of our Fall 2008 auction, the personal collection of Mr. Fred Bauer of Mt. Vernon, Maine and Tularosa, NM. Fred, a well known Maine antiques dealer and auctioneer, started his business in 1969, along with friends Chris Huntington and Ross Levett, as partners, at EZRA PETERS Antiques in Mt. Vernon. Fred, Chris and Ross were pioneering folk art, country furniture and fine art dealers, who had great "eyes" and were always willing to share their considerable knowledge among collectors and dealers alike. That is still true of all three, even today! Fred's collection reflects his superb eye in searching for fine folk art, country furniture and accessories in original surfaces and especially American Indian material!
