121. Ca. 1920 Painted Wooden Advertising ROAD SIGN: “MOUNT KINEO HOTEL on MOOSEHEAD LAKE” 58 M.”. The sign bears the penciled signatures of several members of an award winning 1935 Greenville High School Track Team! The sign is believed to have initially hung on a utility pole in the town of Newport, Maine (58 miles to the southeast of Mount Kineo). The brightly colored yellow marker, pointing the way on Maine route 16 on which Newport is now the gateway to what is known as the MOOSEHEAD TRAIL. Measures 36” x 9” tall.

A pre Civil War (mid 19th Century) INFANTRY OFFICER’S Winter VEST. Six original brass “I” (infantry) “Eagle” buttons (back marked “Extra Quality”) are present. Its back buckle bears an illegible patent date. Hand sewn silk outer shell with “pieced” polished cotton back and inner linen liner. Hand stitched throughout. Ink markings on inner liner indicate size “36B”. Marked in same ink as size “UBO B25”.

Co. 1864 Civil War Union Army Model 1850 Foot Officers Sword with its Original Leather Scabbard and bearing the inspector markings “U.S. G.W.S. 1864” at its ricasso These are the inspector marks of the well documented Union Civil War arms inspector George W. Schuman. The scabbard also bears the marks “AMES MFG. CO. CHICOPEE, MASS.”. Overall with scabbard the sword measures 36 3/4” long while the sword only measures 36 1/4” long; length of sword blade measures 30 5/8”.

175. Silver mounted 18th Century Brass Barreled British Flintlock Pistol signed G. JONES (George Jones of London). Its ram rod has an ivory ram tip and its reverse end has a cork screw at its tip. London silversmith marks appear on its trigger guard. Bears typical London proof marks on its brass barrel. Measures 15 ¾” long”.
