This recently discovered watercolor is in the style of John Marin and bears a nearly illegible signature that is possibly his. Finished and badly "toned" on one side and unfinished but in superb condition verso.  The work is unframed and measures 24 1/8'’ x 18'’.

  RUSTIC ANYONE?

A trio of interesting and decorative "campy" offerings for the rustic collector or cottage owner. The LARGE over-mantle pyrography and oil painting on wood panel is housed in its original rustic frame. It measures a generous 63  1/2" wide and stands 15" tall. It is perfectly suited for a large "Lodge" sized fireplace! The folding screen has 3 panels which are each oil on canvas and portray a sporting dog scene along with country roads and dreamy sunsets! Measures 53" tall and 78" wide (when fully extended). The "WIGWAM" sign has individually applied lettering with "saw tooth" edges. It measures  7  3/4" tall by 38  1/2" wide. All of these pieces are in outstanding original condition.

Discovered this past week (11/15) in northeastern Massachusetts, this rare and unusual inlaid Federal period shaving stand or gentleman's dressing table is of fine composition, wood and craft. Joined of mahogany with highly figured mahogany veneered drawer fronts. Its secondary wood is chestnut and pine. Original brasses and surface. Unfortunately its mirror glass and frame have gone missing. Having cuffed and banded feet with contrasting patterned inlays. Measures 35  3/4" wide (at top) x 19  3/4" deep (at top) 36  1/2" tall (to table top)  67" tall (to top of mirror standards).

A signed and inscribed coastal landscape by the noted and well listed Massachusetts and Maine watercolorist DWIGHT BLANEY (Am. 1865-1944). Signed lower left and dated 1924, the watercolor is inscribed (l.r.) "to Betty Converse". Measures 21 3/4'’ x 27 1/4'’ (overall) and 13'’ x 19 ½'’ (sight). The condition of the watercolor is superb. Later framing.

An extremely rare and outstanding matched pair of Federal style custom carved mahogany beds. Superbly styled and exquisitely carved, the beds were found in a Lakes Region, New Hampshire home. Single size, each measuring (overall) 50 ½'’ tall x 79'’ long x 36'’ wide and  31 1/4'’ x 72 ½'’ (inside rails). In excellent original surface.

Found recently in a Lakes Region New Hampshire home, this profusely decorated stand is eye dazzling and petite. The decoration atop its white base paint is the only paint the stand has ever had. The perfect "toddy" table to pair with your favorite painted armchair! The stand measures 18  1/2" x  15  1/2" x 19  1/2" tall.

Recently discovered on the barn loft of a home in Calais, Maine this 3/4 scale carving of Christ is very early. Surviving in its original painted surface, the carving measures 57'’ tall x 14 ½'’ at widest x 10 ½'’ deep.

This LARGE Canadian Folk Art Carved Wall Panel by an unidentified artist celebrates “Les Jeux Du Quebec” (The Games of Quebec). This impressive work is carved from white pine throughout. Measures 90 ½'’ tall  x 40'’ wide.

This VERY EARLY 18th Century "Block Base" Candle Stand is of particularly delicate proportions. The William and Mary period stand  is in stunning condition and surface. Measures 28 1/4'’ tall - Base measures 10'’ wide  x 9 ½'’ deep. A rare find in even more rare condition!

An exceedingly RARE 18th CENTURY American BIRD CAGE. Riddle with rose head nails on its underside and beautifully colored with a rich dark natural patina, this cage was discovered in the attic of the Silas Hastings Tavern. Its delicately turned finials top of its nicely crafted wooden frame. Original throughout! Measures 19  1/4" tall and 13  1/2" square at base.

Discovered recently on the stairs of an early home on NORTH HAVEN ISLAND, MAINE this UNUSUAL and possibly UNIQUE duck decoy has been transformed to wood sculpture, with its head being reformed into a tribal African human effigy. The head has the typical main "inletted" construction. Measures 13" long and 6  1/2" at its tallest. A remarkable form which is both decorative and baffling!

This recently discovered VERY EARLY MAINE HOOKED RUG is attic fresh and in "as found" condition! Measures 54" long and 35" wide.

The Reverend A.P. RICE of Amesbury, Massachusetts was the gifted amateur artist who created these three oil paintings. Each portrays scenes from the Great American Outdoors! Two of the paintings are titled SPORTING SCENES with one being inscribed on an exhibition tag on its back "DAWN VISITOR" and the other titled "LUCKY SHOT" in the same fashion. The Western Campfire Scene is untitled. Each is oil on academy board and is signed l.r. "A P RICE" and housed in their original period frames. "Lucky Shot" measures  28  1/4" x 21" (overall)  and 21" x 14" (sight) "Dawn Visitor" measures 30" x 24" (overall)   24" x 18"(sight) and the untitled Western Campfire Scene measures 18" x 23  1/2" (overall)   12 3/4" x 18  1/4"(sight). All are in excellent original condition.

A TALE of TWO LEGENDARY MAINE FISH, their ANGLER & CRAFTSMAN

Discovered recently in the basement of a Waterville, Maine ranch style home, the LONG LOST but LONG TREASURED Lauridan "Lord" Bolduc MAINE STATE RECORD BROOK TROUT has survived! Caught at Messalonskee Lake in 1941, the trout has been hidden away for many years after being gifted to a nephew and treasured fishing buddy. The 8  1/2 lb. beauty hasn't seen the light of day for decades. Accompanied by the original Sate of Maine "One That Didn't Get Away" Club certificate along with "Lord" Bolduc's personally inscribed  ORVIS "Impregnated" Bamboo Fly Rod, this combination is an icon and historically important tribute to Maine Fly Fishing. Complete provenance available to the buyer. The fish mount, certificate and Orvis rod will be sold together as they have been since all three were united with Lauridan Bolduc to document a legendary Maine fishing tale!

Discovered recently in the Portland, Maine area, this signed NASH of MAINE mounted "TROUT MEZZO" is of incredible size and extremely rare condition. According to the 1905 Portland, Maine Board of Trade Journal, Nash of NORWAY, ME was in 1903, granted a PATENT for his unusual and creative process which (obviously) preserved many fishing trophies for the ages! Being of incredible size, this remarkable 25" inch BROOK TROUT is mounted by Nash on his"signature" and busily grained, elliptical BIRDSEYE MAPLE slab. Although Nash called Norway home, he had studios in Rangeley as well as Norway. He was also the Official Taxidermist for the Grand Trunk Railroad. This piece is UNTOUCHED and SUPERB throughout!! Quite possibly the very best surviving example of this Maine master!!

This FIRST GENERATION COLT .45 Single Action Army Revolver was shipped on FEBRUARY 8, 1883 to HARTLEY & GRAHAM in NEW YORK.
