The maternal grandparents of Glen Holden were Rush and Isola Raynor of Shelby, MI. During the 1890s, upon the invention of the COTTON CANDY MACHINE, the Raynors purchased the machine pictured above. The couple and their daughter traveled to local fairs and pageants selling their "KOTTON KANDY" in a portable "booth" which Rush had built (see 1907 family photo above). At some point, when the children were grown, Isola and Rush succumbed to a long held mutual passion for wanderlust. Around 1915, they purchased a brand new REO TOURING CAR, packed their portable business on board and traveled America, peddling their novel confectionery delight "KOTTON KANDY" to willing "sweet toothed" customers. This original early 1900s Cotton Candy machine will be sold with the original hand painted banner that hung atop the Raynor's canopy. The original hand crafted canopy frame is also present. A reproduction of the original family photo will be include as well. A remarkable and possibly unique combination with an amazing provenance!!!
